Sunshine!
A cold but beautifully sunny day! We live in a beautiful place, moorland, rolling hills, and pretty villages. However we are getting a bit fed up of walking the same routes with slight variations. How I wish we could go further afield but we just have to make the best of things.
The Covid news is grim:-(
The business partner/friend of my son-in-law who tested positive a few days ago is really not very well, he has fluid in his lungs and if the antibiotics don't improve it in 24-48 hours he may have to go to hospital, now his girlfriend (pregnant) has it and her mum, dad and gran. They don't know who had it first but she and her parents have been in a bubble. Just goes to show, even bubbles aren't that safe!
Today Bella was in the bad books - well not really as it wasn't her fault. I had just put my cup of tea on the little table by the couch when Frank came back from the post office. Bella was so excited to see him (he'd only been gone 2 minutes!) she wagged her tail and knocked the tea all over the cream carpet! It went everywhere. I think we managed to clean it and it doesn't look stained. Bella hid behind the other couch until we called her out and told her it was OK and it's not her fault she's such a big girl with such a big waggy tail!
We spoke to Sam last night (Frank's son in N Ireland) they are in lockdown till March. He said Isla and Arón are getting really fed up and upset at times at not being able to go to school and see their friends. They live way out in the country in Co Antrim and have wonderful places for walks including beaches and forests but for kids not able to socialise with their pals it's hard. Sam and Siobhan are both working from home.
I haven't achieved a single thing today! After a good walk we had a cuppa, I had a video call with Tony and Diane and saw my 2 year old great niece Emmeline, she's so cute and used to video chat. Then a phone call with Marc, and then I read for a bit and fell asleep - for ages!
I used to complain that I could never sleep during the day - now I can hardly stay awake! I don't like it, it's just not like me and I feel like I'm wasting time. I think it's because life is getting a bit tedious. I have loads to keep me occupied and some days I feel really motivated but other days not.
Don't get me wrong, it hasn't been a bad day, I've quite enjoyed it but I have this inbuilt guilt if I haven't 'done things'.
I think it will be better when we get back on the boat. I can't wait!
Anyway, now we're watching Susan Calman in Yorkshire on Ch 5. She's quite funny and they're showing the beautiful landscapes round here.
I'll knit a few rows then at least I will have achieved something!
Hope you've all had a good day :-)x
Stay safe everyone - don't catch it - don't spread it.
