More Sorting Out
I went through more stuff and have a charity box full - a big one.
If anyone sees anything they would like I would happily post it ;-)
I ended up going through bits of paper, photos and memories that I’d jotted down for future reference.
I started looking back at my life in the 70’s. Here’s a memory of those happy, heady days! The Wispa was a big Disco in Litherland, Liverpool.
I lived for Friday nights!
22/365
Disco Night
Friday night was Disco night
We couldn’t wait to go for a whirl
On the dance floor at the Wispa
All dressed up in ‘Chelsea Girl’.
We could sway and dance for hours
Getting high on music and the beat
We hardly sat down because every song
Was magic to our ears and our feet.
‘Round and round and up and down
We goooo again, baby let me know
You love me soooo again. C’mon
Let’s twist again like we did last Summer…’
I’d twirl around in my circle skirt
Like a children’s spinning top
Eagerly waiting for the next song
We just never wanted to stop.
All too soon it would be midnight
We’d join the coats and taxi queues
Then once at home, we’d sigh with relief
As we took off our high heeled shoes.
Oh, those happy times in the 70’s!
Hope your Saturday has been a good one.
Thanks for all the comments, stars and hearts :-)X
