Colleagues

Struck me today that I've swapped colleagues from the old lot, to these guys - and they've taught me a great deal (more than many colleagues) about how to inspire, cajole and build confidence.  The energy needed to get the concentration going, to make them realise when things are going right, to put them back on track when they are a little iffy about something is utterly exhausting, but actually really worth it.

Spelling test today, we made massive progress as all week the eldest has refused to believe me that the word 'air' is a real word - flat out refusal.  We got there today, so he got full marks.

Funny old day other wise, I've had three work video calls, two were a waste of time, but flattering to be involved.  The boys thing a work call is the most fantastic thing ever, as they get some unscheduled tv.

We got out for a walk in the sun, the no guilt, time spent with them, after a few years of constant guilt of not being at a computer is so refreshing.  The eldest fell in a puddle, carried on regardless, totally unfazed, despite saying it was cold and muddy.  Back for a bath and hot chocolate.

Today I'm grateful for:
Beautiful sunshine all day long, it's been blissful (but have had to explain that it's not summer yet!)
Lovely chat with an old work colleague, we share the same views on a few things
My turn to go to the supermarket this evening, it's pretty much as adventurous as things get right now
