Snow day

It was snowing when I went to bed last night. It was still snowing when I got up early to head west on an essential journey. It was the first time for a long time that I had to engage my winter driving skills! The journey and its purpose were both successful.

Later we walked on the beach and it was bitterly cold with a wind chill of -2.

T enjoyed her home schooling support time with the Gloucestershire grandchildren while their mother was busy teaching her secondary pupils from her kitchen table and their father was providing face to face leadership to his key worker pupils in his school.

I am greatly heartened by the news that the USA, under its new President, is rapidly reclaiming its place as a responsible world leader eg WHO membership and The Paris Agreement.

Will Joe Biden be in Glasgow in November for the COP26 or will the pandemic still confine this key gathering to a virtual location? Is the postponement of Glastonbury 2021, today. a cautionary note for all summer festivals? Will the Euro Football championships and the summer Olympics take place in front of large crowds? Tough questions to answer while we are all in the grip of a pandemic.
