New Years Day

Couldn’t be bothered staying up till midnight last night and didn’t get out of bed until mid-morning today. Can you tell I’m not that bothered about celebrating the New Year! At one point I didn’t actually know what day of the week it was (Friday apparently, but when you’re in Tier 4, it doesn’t really seem to matter that much!)
Still, it was a nice day, and we’d resolved to continue with the healthy lifestyle we’d started last year, so a nice long walk seemed in order. Tried to choose a route where we might meet less people, but the trouble with going for a walk on a nice day in lockdown is that everybody else has the same idea. I shudder to think what it was like around Ambleside or Bowness today!
Obviously, no cafes open to sit in, but we were able to get a couple of takeaway drinks and had brought some snacks out with us. Coffee, cheese and Christmas cake whilst sat in Market Place watching the sunset - lovely.
Back home and I remembered it was refuse collection day tomorrow. Sadly, it’s looking like my bins will, once again, be going out more often than me this year!
