Light It Up

As promised yesterday, it was time to set up the outside lights today. But not before I’d taken advantage of it being a bright, sunny day by going for a quick 5K run before lunch. Not as cold as I’d feared and I managed a reasonable time without incurring any aches and pains - result!
As it happened, the lights went up in quite short order so we took advantage of it still being dry and sunny and walked into town for a coffee and mince pie. We could have used some vouchers to get the drinks and one of the mince pies for free, but Mrs C forgot to change the app from “payment card” to “redeem vouchers” so ended up paying full price!! Still, good excuse to go back tomorrow and try again!
When we got home it was dark, so time to turn on the lights. After trying all the combinations on offer, we decided they were either too manic or too insipid, so just left them set to steady on. We are now all set for Christmas and there are still almost three weeks to go. I don’t think we’ve been that prepared ever! And four weeks from now it will all be over and we’ll be starting a new year. I don’t think any of us will be sorry to see the end of 2020 though, so I’ll be quite happy if those four weeks pass quite quickly.
