Red squirrel

We went for a walk in Tentsmuir this morning and headed round to Morton Lochs where the sun kindly came out to brighten the views.
Loads of different sorts of ducks (and more later in the river), little grebe, swans, moorhens, little egret, reed bunting, jay, several varities of small birds and red squirrels. Most of the squirrels were quite dark and some very dark, there must be a melanistic gene in the population.
The extra is of some striking reedmace.
Walked over 8 miles altogether in very mixed woodland, even though much is a forestry plantation.
Will have a quiet rest of the day.
