A Rufus Date
Archie’s vet student came at 8.30 this morning. She needs to fit in his 2 hour walk before her lectures - she’s so good! But it was quite a shock to my system to have to get up, Archie out and breakfasted, before she came.
I then did my cycling, while waving my arms around clutching 1kg weights. I feel it’s doing me some good... I’m watching ‘This Life’ on BritBox, which I missed in the 90s. JR also did her more strenuous exercises.
We then set off for our lunch date with Rufus and his mum. We went to McLaren’s on the Corner, which has done great things since the pandemic to make the place safe. And in their terrific outside space, they have a row of ex-ski gondolas from Courchevel for intimate meals for two. I had the most immense chicken and mushroom pie I have ever seen. I couldn’t finish all the pastry - that’s how big it was.
Here’s a disheveled Archie and Rufus before the meal, but they were both very patient under the table - with just the occasional head poking up now and again (Extra 1). Rufus was delighted to be transported home, as it was quite a long walk for his wee legs. (Extra 2)
