Venford Brook Twin Falls
I have wanted to visit this place for a while but have only recently found out how to get there.
It's on the moors about half a mile from the nearest road and not somewhere I would want venture on my own, at least not on the first visit.
Luckily, my very good friend and Blip Buddy Kipsie, was up for a bit of an adventure.
A gorgeous day from dawn to dusk but low overnight temperatures meant I had to defrost the windscreen before we headed up to the moor.
A quick stop at Holne Bridge but we soon realised that the sun doesn't rise high enough to light the bridge now we're into November.
Walking back to the car I managed to fall off a low wall landing on my backpack/camera bag and cracking my shin with my very heavy tripod *OUCH!* Luckily the cameras and filters were not damaged.
Wellies are necessary for such an adventure but they are lethal when walking on wet stones, moss, leaves etc.
A short drive to our next stop and then we headed off in the general direction of where I thought the falls are found.
Slipping, sliding, swearing as we scrambled alongside the brook as it hurtled along.
Eventually we could see a small dell but what we hadn't bargained for was a couple of skinny dippers. The water must have been bloody freezing.
I reckon our arrival saved the bloke any embarrassment ;-)
The girl got out, not embarrassed at all while her companion elected to stay half submerged in the water while we scrambled past with a cheery wave and greeting LOL!
Kipsie suggested later (once we were safely back at the car)that we should have joined them !!!!
Not to be deterred we continued just a few yards past this couple and found our destination.
Tricky light and a very fast current but Im really quite chuffed to get the shot.
I/we will return when it's a dull day and not after days of torrential rain.
