Little Egret

I've got more than my fair share of carer's duties this week so I planned for a day to myself today.
I couldn't have wished for better weather.

Normally I visit the marshes in the late afternoon but it was my first port of call today . The mist was rising off the dropping tide which made for a magical backdrop to the fishing egrets.
