Blue sky distraction
We set out to do what we will not be able to do for a while - go out for breakfast. We arrived early at Lakeland and afterwards we did a little shopping.
We decided to wander back through the Lakes and were surprised just how many cars there were in all the car parks and lay-bys. Then of course we realised that a combination of the lovely weather and the 'last chance' idea had brought so many people into the Lakes. (Perhaps it was also a distraction from the awful happenings today across the water.)
We decided not to stop when there were so many people about, but as we took the St John's in The Vale road, I noticed this bridge and we stopped to look at it. I thought it might be the well-known Sosgill Bridge over the St John's Beck, but now we are not too sure. Whichever bridge it is, it has had a lot of work done to help with flooding, as this is an area very much prone to that.
So this is my record of a beautiful day and a peaceful scene - a world away from the chaos elsewhere. And a day to remember for the next few weeks.
Has everyone seen this - fabulous Autumn image.
