Spiky
Gordon was working in the garden and he came upon this little one. Apparently it was moving along quite quickly, until it sensed danger and froze. I arrived and it stayed still, then it climbed up the long grass (see extra), we think it felt more hidden there. We left it alone.
This must have been a juvenile as it was so small and, when I looked it up, it would seem that a hedgehog born late in the season can find it difficult to put on enough fat to enable it to last through the winter. This one did look healthy, quite plump and lively, so maybe it will be okay.
