Sore toes
Archie’s vet student and her flatmate came for him this morning. I know it’s great for them to get out into nature with a dog.
I rang Uncle A to check that all was well, but he said his iPad (that I had set up last time) ‘wasn’t behaving properly’. So I went along to see if I could ‘fix’ it. But the wifi wasn’t working. The hub wasn’t being recognised. OK - shut it all off, pull out the plugs, wait for five minutes, and hey presto, that usually works. Not this time. I fiddled and faddled, and pressed buttons on and off, poked at the wires. I even suggested his sometime ‘techie expert’ might have to come. I had given up. I checked on the BT website too, and prodded the connections again. Then, after at least an hour and half, BINGO! It was back on. I ‘fixed’ the iPad - it had just gone to the next screen. I looked at the time - 12 o’clock! I had to go to Halfords to pick up my new cycle helmet (thinking positive), and we were meeting a pal at 1pm for a walk!
Anyway, I realised Uncle A’s clock was still on Summer Time, so I did have plenty of time.
We met our pal S at the Duck Pond and had a stroll through the Hermitage. A bit muddy in places, but lovely all the same. We met a gorgeous clean white fluffy dog, Lola (Extra 1) and chatted to her owner, who knew Archie! Also met the beautiful and serene Dorothy (Extra 2).
I wore my fur lined boots I got last year. Very comfy, plenty of room, and light as a feather - ideal.
But no! Because I had ‘plenty of room’ as we staggered slowly down the big muddy slippery hill, my feet slipped forward inside the boots, so my poor toes were jammed into the front. I was quietly in agony for the rest of the walk.and so I was even more relieved than usual to have brought the car down to the pond, so that I didn’t have the long walk back up the road.
Archie is Very Tired tonight. He’s had two big walks.
I’m very tired too, but I just had one big walk. (8,658 steps)
An exciting delivery tomorrow!
