Today’s view

So much for any hiking today.

Since we could not hike we decided to be “foodies”! Breakfast at a little bakery cafe. Too many choices! My two over easy eggs came out in their own tiny cast iron frying pan. Topped with spicy cheese grits/polenta. And a wedge of homemade sourdough bread.

Then we drove toward the hiking location hoping for a break in the rain to at least get our feet on the muddy trail. Pouring rain as seen in the photo.

So instead of hiking we went on to Asheville , North Carolina to the farmers market which was covered and dry. I got a jar of raw honey and several kinds of home made pickles. By this time we wanted more found so we stopped at the restaurant at the market. Chicken pot pie that was excellent. We left vowing not to eat for a week.

A couple more stops at the antique junk stores we saw and finally are home. Not exactly the weekend planned but it was still a good time.

We never let the rain get us down! Plus we have an excuse to go back to walk that trail!
