Waterfall hike

We were watching the weather as Hurricane Delta’s long arm of rain came our way as we drove to the mountains. It looked very much like we would not get any hiking time.
But we did!

We decided to try to hike to Station Cove Falls since it was shorter than the other trails in three parks where we stopped. A nice walk in the forest with lots of mushrooms and a really nice waterfall.


Just as we got back to the car the rain showed up! So we headed toward our hotel and some food.

Tomorrow was supposed to be a long hike but we think the rain will be worse in the morning. If not, we may try to get a short hike in before heading home. Or maybe visit a few antique stores in the area.

There is still hardly any fall color in this area. Many trees look dried up with leaves turning brown.
