Moss-scape
Moss looks so fresh and bright at this time of the year when there is little new green foliage. This is the roof of the old shed at the end of our garden with three or four different moss species. It's a common enough idea that if you get down to the level of the lower plants - mosses, liverworts, lichen, fungi - you discover a completely new landscape. This one echoes beautifully the fieldscapes in this part of the Vale of Aylesbury, with strips of small fields and hedgerows dotted with trees vanishing into the distance. I love the idea of intimate details and big vistas juxtaposed - must work at achieving this in a single photograph.
