Happy third birthday Eda!
We had another look around Shrewsbury after breakfast which entailed a visit to Waterstones!
Then we headed south along the Long Mynd to Ludlow in time for coffee. We’ve visited before and went to the same Castle tea rooms. I was asked if I had the NHS app and used it successfully to sign in for the first time.
We left to head for the dreaded M5 and immediately hit a diversion. It took us past a great viewing spot overlooking Ludlow showing it’s situation nestled into the valley and it’s great castle. One time we will actually visit it. The problem then was the route turned into a single track road!
We got to Bristol just in time for Eda’s return from trying out her new scooter (bought collectively from the Mumday mums) and tea and cake on her real third birthday. (She also got some mermaid leggings which she is wearing.)
The Mermaid was still in situ, in the cake, but was soon removed and washed and is set to become another Eda favourite.
We then had another present opening. Books, which as always have to be read straight away. A camping set from Uncle Alex which was set up. Frozen Castle Duplo for daddy to help make later, but not before the figures got their clothes on and then Granny’s Mermaid’s tail. She put it on immediately but then decided she wanted Jude to wear it. So here we are! Jude was as good as gold, you almost forget she’s there. Amazing she is one week old today.
Later, after the castle had been built, Eda wanted to ‘watch something’ mermaid related before tea and she put the tail on to sit and watch, just what it was made for.
So glad we were able to be here for some of the celebrations.
Tomorrow the work starts. Chris goes home and Daddy is back to work. Granny is in charge of getting Eda to nursery until Mummy is more mobile, it’s going to be all go!
I’ve set my alarm!
Happy birthday to another blip grandchild Esme in New Zealand, Freespiral’s granddaughter two today and to Wendles56’s grandson Euan who was one yesterday! Strange they are all names beginning with ‘E’
