Morning train

Having previously lived in a place where the nearest train was 87 miles away in Oban I find it a novelty to be able to watch them, from bed if I wanted to. I leave the window open so I can hear them better and now that who ever is responsible for the railway infrastructure has thinned the trees bordering the track you can see them just as clearly in the summer. Clear enough to count the passengers which since March is more often than not zero.
Great to see Prof Linda Bauld affirming the safety of gyms and swimming pools in The Times today. The pool was busier this afternoon than it’s been for a while which did not help my concentration. I have become accustomed to a lane all to myself.
So the blip is the aforementioned train and the tree that might be dogwood (I’m not convinced the app correctly identified it) with its increasingly lurid red leaves.
