Autumn crocuses
Another gorgeous autumn morning. Undertook various admin things which involved walking through the heart of Shawlands, and a chance to visit my favourite fruit and veg shop – delicious gaudy yellow courgettes which tasted as good as they looked, and did not lose their yellowness during the sautéing process.
I took the longer route home via Maxwell Park, mainly to check on the duck pond, never busy, and lots of bulrushes full of coots and moorhen.
I spotted these autumn crocuses tucked away in the undergrowth, miraculously untrampled. The other surprise was the new book box, a replacement for the original one that was vandalised at the beginning of lockdown. I’m sure how you get to use it t since it appeared locked and having left my hand sanitiser at home I did not feel like investigating further.
