Jersey Coast Path, day 3
Almost a half marathon today with considerably more ascent and descent than yesterday. A moderate pace with time for a lengthy coffee stop in Bouley Bay, a beautiful sheltered harbour conducive to swimming, there was even a platform around 50 meters from the shore. Someone was snorkelling sans wetsuit so it must have been relatively warm.
The blip is the magnificent Sandy beach at Archirondel with the Archirondel Tower in St Catherine’s Bay, a former late 18th century garrison and now a holiday let.
The profusion of autumn flowers, mostly pink, is an unexpected delight - Madonna Lilies, cyclamen, and hydrangeas as prolific as rhododendron in Scotland – the extra.
