Diary of an Edinburgher

Gardening!

A nice warm sunny day for a change! We sat out in the front garden, which reminded us that the ‘garden’ had been ignored during lockdown. In the spring, it was impossible to go and get plants, so has just been left with nothing. Some new compost was added a while ago, Archie just LOVES to grab a mouthful now and again, especially when he’s excited because one of his walkers has arrived.

One of these aforementioned walkers, the vet student, is now back at college, and came to take him out, and she had her flatmate with her. They went to the Hermitage. ‘BorrowMyDoggy’ is such a good idea. New students, not knowing many people at first, can come and take a personable dog for a walk, and get to know the owners. Win win win - student, doggy, and owners.

JR went off to the garden centre and I had a 45 minute phone consultation with a doctor who was some sort of back specialist. He was somewhat baffled with my symptoms too. But the only thing he could suggest was to try the pills the other doctor had prescribed. I then agreed to give them a go - there’s no use me complaining about my aches and pains if I don’t try the pills that two specialists have recommended. They might just work.

Archie ‘helped’ with the gardening. But the only things he’s interested in are the plastic flower pots. And the brush.

I am trying to drink 2 litres of water a day, as recommended by Kate at BodyStreet, and I managed today again. Though it is a real fag having to go to the toilet several times during the night.

Also watched some of the cycling. They’re amazing, and scenery is wonderful, though I don’t suppose they see much of it.
