The gas works
Amazing that back in the day when Culzean Castle was a family home they had a private gas works down on the shore, with a gas managers house right behind it. We walked into the grounds from the farm site we are on and spent the day there, although the castle is closed it was still worth a visit. The walled gardens were superb. We planned a route round so that we visited everything there was to see, including a visit to the bookshop. While hubby was in the shop Hetty and I waited outside. The most amazing thing happened, another cairn appeared and his owner asked if I was local. I said no but she is, as Hetty was born not very far from here, and it turned out her cairn is from the same breeder but a year older.
Our last stop was the deer park, and I got quite a few shots of fallow and red deer, but the thing that I really had pleasure in seeing were Llama and they were mixed in with the deer.
Back to the van and spent nearly an hour searching for a site for the next two nights, nothing. So we have decided to go to the cottage tomorrow and then managed to book Scarborough for Monday for a couple of nights. So that’s it for us on our Scottish trip, still not like we have to get back for work so will pop home for a few days next week and then may head south as there seem to be plenty of sites with availability in England.
