Newbiggin By The Sea
Who knew The A1(M) was so long? Seemed a much longer journey than yesterday's but arrived here at our holiday house mid-afternoon, in time for a walk along the prom from the point where the blip was taken to St Bartholomew's Church on the distant headland followed by a soak in the hot tub with a rhubarb gin.
Newbiggin was originally a fishing port but the fleet is down toa handful of boats now and the town appears to have a very quiet, laid back charm, despite the sense that it has seen better days.
Looks to be the perfect base for exploring the area
