A Taste of Greece

Today was my last day of working from home, next week I'll be back in the clinic as my colleague is going on holiday so I'm needed to man the fort.  In fairness Nik hasn't asked me to go in, but I offered as I knew they'd have a problem.  Anyway, he was very appreciative, a risk assessment has been done and I'll be provided with a visor as well as a mask so that when I have to take patient's temperatures etc., I'm fully protected.

I finished on time at 1pm and drove to the marina to meet Anne for lunch, and I couldn't believe how busy it was!  There were so many people, the multi-storey car park was almost full, there were long queues for every restaurant, and if you didn't have a booking there weren't any tables.  Of course it's Wednesday and therefore people were making the most of the government scheme 'Eat Out to Help Out' where meals are subsidised Monday - Wednesday.

I suggested to Anne that if we didn't find somewhere, we could go to Asda and pick up a sandwich, then sit on the beach, but luckily we got a table outside Skara which is a Greek Restaurant, and is the hexagonal building in this shot. We had a lovely lunch and it was great to catch up.

When Alan finished work, we took the boys for a walk down to the sea front and back - it was still very windy but the sea was much calmer today.

The exciting news is that we've placed our order for 'Percy' the Pod!  Since we went to look at them last week, they've had another couple of orders and our build date is mid March.  It takes a couple of weeks to build, so we'll get it at the end of March, but that's perfect timing as I doubt we'd be using it much before then.
