Adolescents!
That's what the 11 cygnets are like now. They are as big as their parents and quite cheeky! I've had my fingers pecked a few times when I'm throwing bits of oatcakes or bread. They are so eager to get to the food before their siblings that they try to grab it from my hand. The Swan Rescue said last year that it's OK to feed the swans bread in moderation as the cygnets were not making it through the harsh winter through lack of food. We only give them good bread with lots of seeds in. I also give them boiled potatoes, peas and lettuce however they often just swim away and leave the healthy stuff!
It's nearly 9pm and I'm sitting on the sofa looking up at the skylight where 5 spiders are suspended in their webs. They don't bother me a bit but I will have to try and catch them tomorrow and find them a new home outside simply because the webs get a bit much if we leave them. I already put 3 outside today from the bedroom skylight and about 6 from the front deck outside.
Spiders seem to love boats!
I'm coming to the end of the sewing I have on board so will be able to put the machine away tomorrow. Then I can start something different...hmmm :-]
We each got a text message today from our GP practice say there is a local Covid outbreak and to observe social distancing, wear masks and wash hands frequently.
Worrying!
Stay safe everyone - you just never know where Covid virus is lurking. ;-/ X
