Schiehallion
As this was meant to be one of the last dry days we decided to go hillwalking despite the possibility of the haar lingering. We decided on the 2 Corbetts, Farragon Hill and Meall Tairneachan south of loch Tummel. They are not the most exciting hills as there is the old Foss Barytes mine between the 2 hills. However from the west there is a road that makes climbing the hills relatively simple apart from the last 1.5 km to the top of Farragon Hill which is a bit rough. The cloud lifted as we went up and we saw the top of Farragon Hill as we were having our lunch, but the mist was back down as we got up and despite spending 15 minutes there we had to admit defeat and go back towards Meall Tairneachan. We had rather better luck there and did have a reasonable view from the top. However as we descended the sun finally broke through and the mist cleared off the hills to give great views to the west where the Mamores and Ben Nevis were prominent. The blip is of Schiehallion as the last of the mist cleared and the extras another view of Schiehallion at a wider angle and a view of the heather out in full bloom looking north east to where the haar was still on the hills.
Best on black.
