Dynamic weather developing

One torrential storm arrived to break the drought today. We were out in it having walked into town where we did a bit of shopping and had our lunch in the Infirmerer’s Garden again (https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2733396618467345064) We’d just left Sainsbury’s with rucksacks full of stuff when Susan said she could feel raindrops. Out of nowhere, no warning on the Rain Alarm app, an impressive storm broke overhead as we were walking towards Mote Park.

We tried sheltering, to no avail so we just continued on our way and within a minute we’re drenched. As we’re scores of other people caught in the Park. The fortunate people with cars made their hurried exit.

Rivers of rainwater flowed down and across paths and the Historic Waterfall, which was barely a trickle earlier, was causing a foaming carpet in the plunge pool.

By the time we got home it had stopped and apart from one brief downpour just after we’d sat down outside for a cup of tea, it’s been dry since. There’s been more storms in other parts of the country too. The forecast for the next 24 hours is not too good. I hope you’ve not been affected by anything.
