Another rescue underway

I had a wonderful afternoon and evening with Paladian and Rower today. They wanted to see around the farm - so I took them up to the highest point of the farm to get a good view of the town. While we were there, the rescue helicopter took off from our hospital.

The long building to the right of the helicopter is our new Hosptial/Health Centre/Aged Care facility. Built in 2007, this building is an essential facility for our Community. We have a Doctor 3 days a week, and when not in attendance, specialist or 'PRIME' nurses step in, with back up from Nelson Hospital or the After Hours doctor's clinic in Nelson.

In addition, this building also houses 6 aged care beds, which are just about always full. We also have a visiting Chiropractor, Physiotherapist, Podiatrist and Counsellor, who call frequently during the month. We would be lost without the wonderful people who work here - and are extra lucky that the helicopter lands on the helipad on site in emergencies.
