Afternoon Delight
After a good nights we were up and raring to go, after a late breakfast, to keep us going !
We drove to Morecambe to meet up with our friends for Afternoon Tea at the lovely Midland Hotel.
An easy leisurely drive saw us arrive literally at the same time, midday, for a coffee and catch up first, before a walk along the promenade.
The forecast was for sun, but they got it wrong as usual.....it was very overcast and a bit chilly :-/ as you can see in the extra!
We took ourselves back indoors around 1.30 and treated ourselves to a pre lunch cocktail.
I had a "Deaths Door", a specific gin, with orange, juniper berries & fevertree tonic, so nice!! The guys had Mojitos and Diane had a Midland pink gin.
Their afternoon tea was gorgeous, with a choice of tea, I tried Darjeeling, which I really enjoyed ;-) We took it steady and managed to finish it all bar a couple of scones, which were given to us in a box as we left.
Another slower walk, for an hour or so to avoid the rush hour traffic coming home. Todays main blip was taken then, by which time the weather had improved a good deal, the sun came out, it felt about 10 degrees warmer than earlier, which finished off the day very nicely.
A nice sunny drive back, followed by an hour or so out in the garden. Swept fallen rose petals, watered the baskets and containers thne came indoors to download my photos.
Its now 9.30 and we are just starting to feela little peckish......cheese & biscuits coming right up!
Hope youre all well and safe.
