Day 11 Florence

Fantastic day of sightseeing and wandering the backstreets of Florence. This morning we climbed Giotto's bell tower for amazing views of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. Then a terrace tour of the said Cathedral. We got a glimpse inside the cathedral and are glad we didn’t queue up for it. Very unimpressed compared to the fabulous Siena cathedral.  

In between both of the above we wandered over to the Mercato Centrale for a stop of lunch. Amazing place and not very busy.
We had to go back for a beer it was so impressive.

This afternoon we spent wandering around the backstreets of the Oltrarno quater. Where we mooched in trendy antique/junk shops and tasted our best ice cream yet! We seem to have been stalked (or were stalking) some tourist nuns. They were funny to watch.

I love that you can take your dogs in the supermarket.
