2020 Friday — Diagram of Today
We woke this morning before 6:30 to “no power.” So Mr. Fun put a flame to our gas stove to boil some water for the French press and viola we had coffee. A bit beyond 9:30 the power was restored, so I headed for the kitchen to prepare breakfast. • The oranges are actually “Cayucos Summer Oranges” grown right here in Cayucos. They are big and juicy. We combined one with cantaloupe, a plum, a peach, and some strawberries that we blended and enjoyed a late afternoon smoothie. • Our excursion today took us to Cambria to the farmers market mostly to purchase two more jars of Stephanie’s “minestrone with gnocchi” soup. It’s fabulous with all the summer veggies. I also bought some strawberries, corn on the cob, and then some cookies from the “Breaking Bread” Bakery booth. • While we were in Cambria, we stopped at the thrift store and found a solid glass salad and/or mixing bowl, a large glass measuring cup, and several other items we’ve been looking for. I love thrifting. • We also stopped at Linn’s Gourmet Goods store to purchase two of the frozen chicken pot pies. I also stopped at the “ Among Friends” gift and greeting card store. • Then we headed 13 miles south to home in Cayucos. That was our final day in July.
