Sally Mair - Loving life

First crop

Today started well, a beautiful morning as I set out for my run. I ran a slightly different route today and felt good. I did just over 4k and felt I could have gone further. It's the first time since I did the two 5k's at the end of the couchto5k programme that I've felt I could actually do 5k again. That made me feel good, I did a faster time and so the day started well.
Sunday today so my usual two church services, both on line still although our own service will be taking place next week for the first time since March. All the guidelines will be followed although some of them seem strange.
The Provincial service was from Glasgow today, the celebrant was Bishop Kevin recently... translated.... if that's what you do to Bishops when you move one. I did enjoy the service and his sermon.
I had a cooking day today; I made a blackcurrant and apple sponge and ten a beef stew, both for tomorrow's dinner. My back didn't like me standing for so long though :-( .
Kathryn and the girls came over later on in the afternoon. We had a lovely visit, both girls in good form. Apparently, Isobel, three and three quarter years, (as she will tell you) on hearing that I had been running said... 'If Grandma can run now, does that mean she isn't old any longer?' . Out of the mouths of babes... If only it was that easy. She does think about things quite deeply.

Take heed BTW, my sister in laws car broke down yesterday, they called out the RAC who called them back and said as they didn't have an MOT they would have to pay for the call out as they were not covered if they didn't have an MOT. They weren't interested in the fact that the government who require the MOT in the first place, had deferred them, nor that they had one booked. No MOT, no RAC cover apparently. That policy, in the current situation, may lose them some custom if they don't rethink it.

A quiet evening at home. We had the first picking of peas with dinner, so sweet, absolutely delicious. I made sure they got plenty of water this evening to encourage them to produce lots more.

Monday again tomorrow and just two more sleeps till I go to get my hair done, hooray! It was last done end of January before I went to India. It`s not too bad actually as fortunately I got it cut quite short, the colour is rather lamentable however. Onwards and Upwards?!

Keep well and safe everybody, especially if you have RAC cover.
We're getting there.
