Sally Mair - Loving life

This morning Marvin the pug went for hours first ever stay in kennels while his humans are away for the weekend. We dropped him off at 9.30, hope he has fun!
Ali dropped me in D' mains on the way back as I had to open up our rectory for the Diocesan buildings group to check out its condition and decide if it is for for purpose - it is thank goodness! Mainly some redecoration needed and some new carpets. No shocks I don't think.
On my way home afterwards I had just got to the temp traffic lights and was thinking that there wasn't much room for a wheelchair to get through when there was a loud bang and a van, which looked to be going too fast clipped the light of the temporary pedestrian crossing. I actually yelled I got such a fight, it knocked the light off the stand which in turn missed me by no more than a couple of feet. There were a number of people nearby and fortunately I had the presence of mind to note down the -personalised -number plate, the work men came and spoke to me too. It will all have been caught on camera apparently so hopefully he won't be doing that again! Quite apart from not stopping, after hitting the traffic light, (and he must have known as the bang was so loud), I'm sure that he was doing well over the 20mph limit.
I went home and set to converting yesterday's haul of strawberries into jam (blip) and finishing off the blackcurrant jelly I started on Wednesday. I then boiled up yesterday's blackcurrants and set them dripping - they'll be made into cordial tomorrow!
E came round this afternoon so that her mum could go for a run and Colin took Ali and Stuart to the airport. It was a horrid afternoon and evening so I was glad I got most of my steps done early. 13030, on target after 2 days.
