Meadow flowers at Fernald

Temperatures were heading up into the low 90s today, so we got a fairly early start, had a quick breakfast, and drove over for a walk at Fernald Preserve hoping to see some bird life, and maybe even beavers like we did last time, however, we weren’t in luck today. So I had to make do with some of the meadow flowers with one of the ponds in the background. I had forgotten how many of the paths there are in full sun, and although it was before 10 am, it still felt so hot and humid. When we got home we had a coffee and took that out on the patio, and there, under the shade of our oak tree, we felt quite comfortable, and I even sat and read my book for a while, before the mercury inched up a bit more, and then we retreated into the cool of the air conditioning!
