South Downs Way Day 5 Botolphs to Amberley 14 m

Via Washington. 22km. Not difficult terrain today which is why we could do reasonable time but backpacks hurt and there was still a lot of driving first thing.  So much ash dieback up on the hills around Chanctonbury Ring which was really sad to see.  The only hope is that every so often there is a clump of healthy trees or one individual that looks fine.  We got back around 8.30pm and weren’t fit for much other than a few emails and a light supper.
