A trio of thistles...
A dry day after last night’s rain, although it was a close call as some very threatening clouds were around.
Nipped to Carnwath to pick up oil and fuel filters for the McCormick tractor I am using on the power harrow. Spotted a lot of fields of wet silage sitting ready to lift on our 60 mile round trip, and only one place busy chopping .
Back home, quick lunch then Littlemiss came with me to finish power harrowing the field we were in yesterday. Had to come home for diesel as every time we came over the brow of the hill the warning light came on. Thought after half an hour at full throttle that I was pushing my luck and better to fill up than run out, have to walk home, fill cans and then bleed the fuel line out !
Finished by 7 pm so came home and dropped the engine oil out while it was still hot, changed the filter and put a fresh 7.5 litres of oil back in. Should keep her happy for another 600 hour’s .
Threatening rain again tonight. Just love summer in Scotland. At least it’s too cold for the midgies !
