"those are the best days of my life!"

What an absolutely amazing day this has been!!!

Beginning with fresh homemade crepes for a lazy breakfast and a short stroll to the train station under bright blue sky, Jayney and I were Manchester bound for my Christmas present - the stage version of Goodnight Mister Tom!!!! :)

And what a truly epic performance it was!!! Being left speechless and wanting to give the cast a standing ovation at the end more or less sums it up! Great storyline, an actor who looked freakishly similar to John Thaw who played Mister Tom in the TV adaptation, a stunningly realistic dog puppet and just the right amount of war time song lyrics sprinkled over it, all made for a great afternoon!

And no sooner had we left the rather conserved environment of the theatre then I was reunited with the Cronins!!!! Otherwise known as Andy and Elle! :) It was so good to see them again and be able to catch up, even if it was just for a short time.

Cue our arrival to the restaurant 'Southern Eleven' - after a slight detour due to the failure of all of us to successfully map read both smartphone maps and a traditional paper copy. Starting with catch up drinks which included a super citrusy non-alcoholic cocktail that created some of the best facial expressions we have ever seen when drinking it! And so to the food - having never been before I wasn't sure what to expect but all I can say is Carnivore heaven!! :) The food was absolutely amazing, with all dishes on offer having a BBQ'd twist. I opted for the tasting platter, from which the 18 hour smoked shredded pork was by far the best bit of the 4 piece selection! I highly recommend this place to eat and I will definitely be going back! It's a small but very authentic place to eat!

And so followed another tough goodbye as I hate losing Andy and Elle from my life every time I just manage to get them back but thankfully this time...no tears!!

Back on the train system one more time to return to Liverpool to digest all the food, catch up with Silent Witness, pack for the trek back to Dundee, whilst also learning that Karma really does come about but maybe not always as the requester would have expected..... :) Sleep is one thing Karma should never mess with!
