Looks such a pretty plant

I believe this is Orobanche Crenata - the dreaded Broadbean Broomrape parasitic plant that has devastated Egypt’s broad bean harvests. Here it is in the garden growing in with the broad beans. There are lots of them.

Maybe came with seed or apparently can wait for years to be stimulated by something (enzymes?) from it favoured host plants.

I will have to ensure they don’t set seed and burn all the tops and bean stalks. It sometimes feels that growing food is a relentless struggle against old and new pests and diseases.
