WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

Life Beneath

The sides of the canal are teeming with tadpoles amongst the weed - you can only see them when the sun shines.

This morning we walked along the towpath into Skipton to go to one of the two market stalls to get fruit and veg. Skipton High St is normally lined on each side with market stalls from top to bottom. I had my mask on and I picked the goods mysrlf and put them into our shopping. He only takes cash and it came to £9.70 so he threw in three tangerines so we didn't need to take change. I also went to Holland & Barrett to stock up on vegan chocolate - mainly for Frank ;-). I was the only customer and the lady was behind a perspex screen.I had to scan everything myself so there was no actual contact. The only problem was, I couldn't see because wearing my mask made my specs steam up!

Back at the boat Frank made garlic mushrooms on toast then we went outside to do some jobs. I was potting on tomato plants - some of which now have flowers on them! Frank is tidying up outside after all the work he's been doing.

We haven't seen nearly as many people walking or cycling along the towpath this week. They've probably all driven miles away to visit beauty spots!

According to a Daily Mail headline I saw, teachers are desperate to get back to school and be heros! I think not! From what I've heard from friends and interviews on the news, they're all terrified of going back in case they or the kids in their care catch Corona. Typical propaganda from the Daily Fail!

Still quite cold today.

Thanks for the stars and faves for my 500th Blip! Much appreciated.

Enjoy the weekend and stay safe :-) X
