The Old Forge (Friday 15th May 2020)

For BikerBear's Flower Friday I have chosen these alliums that have just come out in a container pot in the Front Yard. They are rosy-flowered garlic (allium roseum). Thanks to BikerBear for hosting.

So much better resolution in Large (Gallery) view

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Pretty Things - Rosalyn (recorded 1964, Regent Sound, London)
Pretty Things: Phil May (vcl), Dick Taylor (ld gtr), Brian Pendleton (rh gtr), John Stax (bass) with Bobby Graham (dr)
R.I.P. Phil May (9.11.1944, Dartford - 15.5.2020, King's Lynn)
There are so many great Pretty Things records I could have picked from various stages of their varied career that I decided to go with their explosion onto the world with their debut single in May 1964, Rosalyn backed by Jimmy Reed's Big Boss Man. Rosalyn owes a debt to Benny Spellman's Fortune Teller and was written and produced by their manager Jimmy Duncan and studio owner and engineer Bill Farley, whose importance in the field is very underrated. Their drummer was Viv Prince, a highly proficient but unreliable drummer who was a big influence on Keith Moon, both his drumming and his antics. His place was taken on this single by session drummer Bobby Graham when Prince failed to show up.
