The First
This morning I played my first round of golf since January so today's blip had to be the view from the first tee. Needless to say, I hit my first shot into the hedge just beyond the gap on the distant left of the shot and proceeded to make up for lost time by losing as many balls in one round as I might have done if I'd played twice a week since January!
In between searching for balls, both Chris and I managed to play some decent shots and actually parred 3 or 4 holes each. We didn't bother keeping score: it was just a pleasure to be out on the course and playing again in each other's company. What's more, I didn't have any problems taking the club back and hitting the ball. Long may it last.
Today's Lunchtime Lockdown LP, by coincidence, was the first LP I ever bought, Alan Price's "A Price On His Head" from 1967. It was so long ago a) it was in mono and b) I couldn't find any clips of him singing any songs from it but here is my favourite track, Randy Newman's "Living Without You" with a rather nice photo as a backdrop to the lyrics:
