Allium

I love alliums but need to remember to plant new ones each year as I always seem to lose them over the winter. This looks as if it might be the only one in the garden this year apart from the lovely allium nectarascordum which multiply each year.

At lunchtime today word went from door to door in our street that everybody was going to go outside at 4 pm to toast the veterans and the Queen. A short time later the message was that it was changed to 2pm as it was going to be raining at 4. We went outside at 2 and joined a socially separated street party. Some had even set up tables outside their houses and were dressed in outfits from the 1940's. I don't know where the weather forecast came from but almost spot on, a one minute to four, the first spots of rain were felt. We had quite a shower but now it is sunny again. Making the most of it as I have just heard on the weather forecast that on Sunday it will feel like 2 degC when he wind chill is taken into effect.
