The Hollies

Our house was already called The Hollies when we moved in. When we had the front garden designed and planted 5 holly trees were added. They have grown a lot in the past 12 years. The two at the front, either side of the gate, are weeping varieties and the stems were touching the ground. Each tree is about 6 feet tall. So yesterday and today Guy and I got out there with the secateurs, loppers and a saw and gave them a hard prune. Now they look as they should do with a bare trunk and the branches coming down from the crown.

The wisteria was there when we moved in 18 years ago and has grown from a small, spindly thing to what you see now.
