Springwatch 2020
Only from a distance of 1 mile from our house.
Today's news is that the coots have been building up the nest the Grebes abandoned and appear to have taken it over. However the nest that was down at the other end that the grebes appeared to be incubating an egg on, has now been abandoned and there is no egg. I consulted Gav, my ornithological consultant and he said both the grebes moving around and the coots taking over were normal and that the egg had likely been predated. (boo)
Usual routine of Joe Wicks and a bit of work other than that. Oh and B and I got J skipping to the rhyme "lord Nelson lost his eye, his arm, his leg at the bottom of the deep blue sea". While we were singing it I had a background worry that it was not acceptable to sing these days, but couldn't think of any reason why not, other than if I sang it in the 70s, I probably shouldn't now.
