Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Spring corner

This is the other side of the bed outside our bedroom window. Such a colourful spot at the moment. Snakes Head Fritillary, a rather special Scilla, Dicentra Spectablis, Primula and my favourite Hellebore, Sally's Shell. The Sanguinaria is about to come out but I may have upset it by putting some extra compost around it a few weeks ago. We'll see.
Today's extra is a beautiful white violet, if that is not an oxymoron, which I saw when out walking. I don't think I've seen one before.
Today is Colin's birthday, not really possible to do much celebrating, but Ali popped round with our shopping and a gift, it feels so strange not to have her come in and spend time with us. Still at least with the sunshine we were able to chat at a suitable distance in the garden. We put a couple of loads of washing on our beautifully restrung drier, a silly thing to be pleased with, but pleased we are. I put another coat of varnish on my table. It's just about ready to come back inside and looks so much better than it did.
The girls phoned at tea time and sang Happy Birthday to Colin, Isobel wanted to know where his birthday hat was!
The plan is to take part in an online quiz this evening with the girls and their other halves. I'm feeling a wee bit woozy though having had minimal sleep last night so I may duck out.

Keep well everybody, thanks for dropping by.
