Sally Mair - Loving life

Clap for carers

Having spent much of my working life working in a school for children with additional support needs and now as a trustee for a charity supporting adults with similar needs, I had to do this.
Carers, support staff, PAs, whatever you like to call them, and that includes doctors, nurses, auxiliaries, domestics and all NHS staff, all who care deserve our support. I'm all too aware that while many are now having to put up with the inconvenience of working from the comparative safety of their homes, others are continuing to work, harder than ever and with additional levels of complexity not to mention fear and anxiety, in many cases for a minimum wage. I'm aware too that others have lost their jobs, others have lost loved ones and for most of us life will never be the same again. So tonight I clapped for carers, I've clapped for the NHS and I will continue to pray for, thank and support as best I can, all of those who are working throughout the current crisis. Thank you.

Keep well everybody and keep safe, three weeks longer at the moment, but for as long as it is necessary.
I would like to survive and so I will do as I'm told. Please do the same and we will get through this, it's not so bad. We are not freezing, we are not suffering unbearable heat, most of us are not starving and most of us are safe inside our own homes with all the comforts that they contain.
We can do this.
