Hearts for Heroes
Lockdown Day 14
It’s been the warmest day of the year so far, here in Sussex, so this morning we went out before breakfast and combined the doggy walk with a trip to the local shop for fresh fruit and veg. We walked out circuit down to the coast and back, and Alan was successful getting everything on my list except a cauliflower.
When we got back we had smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, avocado and feta cheese and chilli flakes. Alan washed both cars by hand while I washed the clothes and hung it out in the garden for the first time this year. Then I mowed the grass, and emptied out the Palace so I could sweep and mop the floors, and I slid wiped everything and cleaned the windows inside and out.
Once Alan had finished the cars, he started levelling the ground at the side of the house so that we can put the hot tub there. It’ll only be a temporary job until things get back to normal, and then at some point we need to renew the fence and put a proper floor down.
After all that was done we sat in the garden and had a beer while the Sunday roast cooked. Unfortunately, just as I was putting the dinner out, the power tripped and it turns out that the oven has broken! Perfect timing when we’re in lockdown! Luckily our local electrical store is still doing online deliveries so we can get something sorted for later in the week.
Tonight we watched the Queen deliver a speech to the country, heard that Boris has now been admitted into hospital and a further 621 people died. So my blip today is my second entry for the Hearts for Heroes challenge.
