Combining Exercise With Remembrance

Today should have seen the St Nazaire Raid Commemoration Service, cancelled due to the Coronavirus.
I filled my jacket pocket with Poppy Crosses and my daily exercise walk took me to the cemetery and the grave of Able Seaman Bill Savage VC, killed in action during the raid and that of Motor Mechanic Tom Parker also killed in action.
Each year we select two other graves to place crosses upon and as I was alone I opted for a sailor from HMS Indefatigable, I trained at the Indefatigable, and an Unknown Sailor. A few minutes reflection before a walk around the cemetery and home.

As it was Sunday I read and watched rugby re-runs on TV until Clare arrived home.
Tough times for nurses at Treliske and every hospital, public support is really heart warming and gives them a boost.
