Hearts for Heroes
A wonderful challenge in the Blip Community journal as a way for us blippers to thank all those who continue to work to keep essential parts of our communities open for us and to keep us safe while putting their own health at risk. So appreciative.
This is a little Christmas ornament that I made years ago from fabric stuck on a wooden heart. It does have a hanger that G made but I cloned it out. Our daughter Renata, baby granddaughter Krista, and their dog Hudson lived with us for few months while R's husband James was away taking a course, and Renata and I made a whole bunch of these. It was fun. I know it's not the Christmas season, but I still think it's appropriate for the challenge.
G and I had a lovely walk up a country road to a place we used to go when Renata, Krista and their dog Hudson lived here. G would carry Krista in a pack on his back. There are a couple of streams running down from the hills and they merge through a culvert into a pond. Huddy used to love going for a swim then he would pick up the biggest rock he could find and carry it all the way home. We were amazed at the size of rocks he could fit into his mouth. There's still a few of them around our place, I'm sure. Sometimes we still find bits of Huddy Hair stuck on the cedar siding. He was a beautiful boy, a Golden Retriever. Lots of good memories from those months. I doubt Cooper, the Portuguese Water Dog, the dog they got after Huddy died, would go for a swim. He's not fond of water. :-)
We were passed by two cars, one runner, and one walker with three dogs. She told us that all her family from Vancouver are staying with them just now - 18 of them! She said that she's really enjoying going for walks with the dogs. No doubt!
A mix of very heavy rain and hail storms with wind today. We got a bit of rain on our walk but luckily were home by the time the stormy weather arrived.
Hope all you blippers are managing to keep your spirits up and are staying safe.
