The Mask

Lockdown Day 2

I went to work this morning and basically told them that I wasn’t happy to be there.  Bex our office manager is really good with employee’s  rights, and asked what my concerns were.  We had a chat, she phoned Nik, he phoned me and by lunch time I was home - now that’s what you call reactive!

They did step things up quite a bit this morning by removing all cups and glasses and replacing them with disposable paper cups, the sofa and chairs were removed from reception and replaced with plastic chairs and anything that can be touched/picked up was removed.  Maria gave me a mask, and she wore one herself and when Nik arrived he gave her a contactless thermometer and said that every patient arriving at the clinic had to be tested.

I’m now working from home on Tuesdays and Wednesdays but he’s asked that I go into the clinic on Mondays which is a quiet day when no one is in.  I can use that day to do any admin/scanning that I can’t do at home and I’m happy to do that.  So my workspace is set up on the dining table as Alan uses the office and we don’t have a second desk - it’s a shame we didn’t think ahead and get one!  At least we can have our lunch/coffee breaks together.

Once we finished work we took the boys out for a brisk 40 minute walk down to the sea and back, as long as we can still get out for exercise I’ll be happy.  But it’s been such a lovely day and Amanda said it was busy on the Esplanade in Brighton, which worries me!

Anyway after tomorrow I’ll have some time to myself so will be able to catch up with you all, I hope everyone’s ok!
